Iran launches first wave of ballistic missiles at Israel

Revolutionary Guards fire first wave of ballistic missiles at Israelafter an initial drone attack, state news agency IRNA reported.

According to IRNA, the ballistic missiles will be targeted “in the occupied territories and positions of the Zionist regime.”

Over the past four decades, Iran has developed a national weapons industry, thanks to the international embargo, with a particular interest in missiles, and has several missiles that reach 2,000 kilometers, enough to reach Israel.

Iranian ballistic missiles are a source of concern for the US, Europe and some countries in the Middle East.

Although the Tehran authorities still claim that they have only a defensive and deterrent function.

Iran responds to Israeli attack on its consulate in Syria

The Revolutionary Guards said this Sunday that they launched an attack on Israel in response to the April 1 bombing of the Damascus consulate, which killed seven members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

The attack, dubbed “Operation True Promise,” is “part of the punishment of this illegal and criminal regime” against Israel, the elite military body named in a statement compiled by state news agency IRNA.

Shortly after this announcement, Iranian Defense Minister Mohammad Reza Ashtiani warned this Sunday that any country that allows its airspace or territory to be used to carry out attacks on Iranian soil will receive a “harsh” response.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has repeatedly insisted in recent weeks that “the Zionist regime must and will be punished,” a threat repeated by virtually every senior official in the country since the Damascus attack. EFE
