The Pixel 8a, another “cheap” phone from Google, will be announced at the Internet giant’s annual developer conference (Google I/O) and will be available in four colors leaked by Android Headlines.
Since the previous Pixel 6a and Pixel 7a were announced at the developer conference, it’s no surprise that the budget variant of the Pixel 8 will also be introduced there.
Images of the terminal’s new color finishes show a general design similar to that of the current Pixel 7a, but with some changes, such as more curvature at the edges of the terminal’s aluminum chassis or the back panel, which now has a completely finished sidekick.
Changes inside are also confirmed, with the chipset Tensioner G3 that Google will debut in the Pixel 8. It is a competent in-house development that, without being the most advanced on the market, works very well integrated with Android. The rest would be confirmed by a comparison of the front with that of the Pixel 7a 6.1 inch display that it succeeded. Interesting for its compactness and one-handed handling capacity, which is lost by almost all advanced terminals that reach the market.
Google is known to improve quality OLED panel with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a maximum brightness of 1,400 nits and a native resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels. The screen’s bezels have been reduced compared to the 7a’s, though they’re still noticeable.
The design of the rear camera with a dual sensor (main 64 MP, f/1.9, OIS and wide-angle 13 MP, f/2.2) located horizontally on the upper left edge, next to the LED flash, is also known. The volume controls and power button are located on the right side, in a button panel that feels tactile, while the back is finished with the familiar Google logo that occupies the center of the panel.
The Pixel 8a will be unveiled at the Google I/O developer conference. It will pre-install Android 14 and will have the advantages of Google for its terminals, seven years of updates and free storage in Google One.
