The Lebanese Foreign Ministry this Monday asked to stop the regional escalation and implement international resolutions. to avoid “explosion of the entire Middle East”, in its first official statement since Iran’s attack on Israel on Saturday.

“The Ministry once again asks to supply stopping escalation, threats of war and military retaliation in all its forms and once again respect the norms of international law and the resolutions of international legitimacy as the only deterrent to avoid the consequences of the explosion of the entire Middle East,” he warned in his statement.

Government Department warned that the region is “on the brink of an abyss” and recalled that all this is happening against the backdrop of the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip, which has not stopped for more than six months due to the “failure to comply” with the relevant UN Security Council resolution.

“Return to the political path” based on a two-state solution and the relevant UN resolutions failed to do so,” he condemned in his note.
