Airbus Public Safety will offer its Agent MCx solution for secure communications together with Proximus NXT to Belgian companies.

Airbus brings Agnet McX onto the Belgian market with Proximus NXT as a partner. Both companies announced this. Agnet is an important communication solution that supports push-to-talk, instant messaging, video sharing and location services, among others. Agnet users can utilize this functionality in a secure and robust context where communications are encrypted and the underlying network is theoretically very robust.

Cutting (coming soon)

Proximus NXT (formerly Proximus Enterprise) will support the introduction of Agnet in our country. In addition, Airbus Agnet can make MCx accessible via Proximus’ 4G and 5G network. The latter in particular will be interesting in the future. Once the Proximus 5G network supports slicing, Agnet can benefit from it.

Slicing allows a provider to divide its network into different virtual networks that do not affect each other. Should the public 5G network be at capacity, for example in an emergency, the network slice for Agnet would still be operational. This makes the solution interesting for security services and critical areas.

Proximus has successfully tested Agnet MCx with various customers in recent months. The provider takes this opportunity to point out that the choice of Airbus underlines Proximus’ strong position. This is partly true, but we would like to point out that network slicing functions are already available abroad.
