Blackmagic Design’s new DaVinci Resolve color panel is portable, affordable and designed specifically for the iPad Pro.

Blackmagic Design launches the DaVinci Resolve Micro Color Panel, a new color panel for the DaVinci Resolve software designed specifically for use with an iPad Pro. With three trackballs, twelve controls, and a portable, compact design, creatives can get started quickly and efficiently. Visitors to NAB in Las Vegas can see the panel in real life at the Blackmagic Design booth. The DaVinci Resolve Micro Color Panel is expected to be available in May for $495.

Designed for iPad Pro

This new portable and compact editing panel features a mounting slot for an Apple iPad Pro, but can also be placed next to a laptop or computer keyboard. This allows editors to easily switch between the keyboard and control panel while editing. The panel also has an internal battery and connects to your device via Bluetooth or USB-C.

The DaVinci Resolve Micro Color control panel features three trackballs and twelve control buttons that provide direct access to primary correction functions, providing smooth hands-on control of multiple parameters. This makes it easier for creatives to experiment and try out new combinations. The main buttons can be used to control Y-Lift, Y-Gamma, Y-Gain, Contrast, Pivot, Midtone Detail, Color Boost, Shadows, Highlights, Saturation, Hue Rotation and Luminance Blending.

With this model, the company says it wants to offer an affordable and portable model that is almost twice as expensive as the previous Micro Panel. The panel is expected to be available in May, priced at $495.
