TikTok is experimenting with the introduction of a clear mode that allows its users to view videos without some elements this can distract you. Items will be removed from the user interface (UI).
The new clarity mode has surfaced in the past few days on some users’ accounts. Later, social media consultant and industry analyst Matt Navarra shared this on social media.
Navarra announced on his Twitter profile: TikTok is testing a clear mod for a “distraction-free viewing experience” on your videos. The news was later confirmed to the dedicated TechCrunch portal by the platform itself.
TikTok’s net mode allows you to view the content of the platform by hiding interface elements that vary according to the user. In general, it does usernames, subtitles and audio information, in addition to hashtags. In some cases, there is also a sidebar that offers additional information such as the number of likes and comments the post has had.
The new option appears while a video is playing and is pressed. on the screen for a few seconds, In the dropdown options menu as described on The Verge. To exit this mode, simply press the screen again.
When watching a video and not a live stream, this function removes all elements except the search icon. This allows the user to retrace their steps and leave comments in the bottom bar.
According to The Verge, it’s available in videos appears when browsing the feed, in user profiles and in direct messages. However, it is not available in commercials or screen recordings.
