The PS5 Pro is expected to launch later this year. There is no definitive confirmed date, but it will most likely arrive between the months October and November dates before the Christmas campaign, which, as most of our readers know, is one of the most important for the technology market in general.
Makes sense. The PS5 was launched in November 2020, so the launch of the PS5 Pro would take place just four years after its arrival. It also fits the time of year and launching a new console just in time for the Christmas campaign would be a very smart move on Sony’s part as it would allow them to maximize sales and get off to a good start.
As I explained to you earlier, it will be intergenerational renewal, a topic I delved into when comparing the PS5 Pro vs PS5. The former will have notable advancements and improvements, but in the end it will still be a console framed in the current generation and will be a long way from the future PS6.
However, there’s a problem with all of this that no one seems to have noticed, and that would be the launch of this new console without any major triple-A games. GTA 6 will hit the market in 2025, at least according to Rockstar’s statements at the time, and I don’t currently have any major games on my radar to arrive at the end of this year that could somehow maximize interest in the PS5 Pro.
With the most important new games scheduled for 2025, the launch of the PS5 Pro could be a bit “delayed” if it arrives in late 2024. unless Sony has an ace up its sleeve and finally surprise us with some exclusive and unpredictable launch, which now seems unlikely.
Enhanced for PS5 Pro, the “ace up the sleeve” for the launch of PS5 Pro

Sony could make up for this absence of major releases close to the PS5 Pro’s debut an important selection of enhanced games for said console. I’m referring to titles with Enhanced for PS5 Pro certification, i.e. improved for PS5 Pro To achieve this certification, developers have to meet strict requirements and introduce improvements that really represent an important difference compared to PS5.
If I remember correctly, it was accurate a strategy Sony adopted with the PS4 Pro, a console that also came with a good selection of boosted games, and there was also heavy promotion of the console’s ability to apply boost mode to games that weren’t optimized. All this, and boasting 4K, made the PS4 Pro well-received, a scenario that could be repeated with the PS5 Pro.
In the list of enhanced games for PS5 Pro should contain all the great exclusives that have been released so far, which include names like God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, The Last of Us Part I and Part II, Demon’s Souls Remake, the Spider-Man franchise, Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth, and Ghost of Tsushima. Keep in mind that this is just an estimate and ultimately it all depends on Sony and the developers.
Before I wrap up, I want to share an important update with you, and that is that Sony has dropped a video that revealed the PS5 Pro’s secret weapon, PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution. This is a way to confirm what was an open secret, that the said video is real and that the information contained therein is authentic. I’ve left you a link to the article we published back then so you can check out all of his keys.
