One of the most interesting features of browsers, and Google Chrome is no exception, is found in the possibility of its expansion thanks to extensions, small applications designed by third parties that are integrated into the browser to provide new features as well as improve existing ones. In my case, I can say that there are some that I find essential in my daily life, and I also tend to install others that I use less often, but are incredibly useful in certain circumstances.
Chrome extensions are mainly grouped in their own store, although it is also possible to install them from other sources, although in these cases you must always act with great care, because depending on the permissions they need to perform their tasks, they can become a dangerous threat if they go through bad times. Of course, malicious extensions can also be “smuggled” into the Chrome Web Store, but Google works both proactively and reactively and tries to reduce these risks as much as possible.
Security is now not the only problem we may encounter when using browser extensions. An example of a problem that occurs under certain circumstances is this extension features are not compatible with the website, so when we try to access it, it is not possible. And it becomes more complicated because in these cases this incompatibility is not reported, so even if we feel that the problem is caused by one of these add-ons, we will have to face the tedious task of disabling them all, something that will affect all sites that we will visit.
If you’ve been in this situation (in my case, I’ve been several times), you already know how tedious it is, and from what we now know, Google is aware of it and has decided to address it. As? Well adding a new control in Google Chrome that allows you to disable all extensions for a web page with a single click. And no, we’re not talking about a feature present in Chrome Canary, in fact it’s already been included in the stable version of the browser… although it’s not visible yet.
So, if you want to try it out, you’ll first need to make sure you have the latest version of Google Browser, 123.0.6312.123, and then you’ll need to enable the corresponding flag, which in this case is “Access the Control Extension Menu.” Let’s take a quick look at how to it:
In this way, the function of disabling all extensions for the website in one click will now be active. To test this, open any web page and then bring up the extension menu (the icon shown to the right of the search bar, just before the Google user account selector. You’ll then see the usual extension menu, but at the top you’ll see a control where you can disable all extension for that site.
