Most of potential jurors called on Monday for the first day criminal trial against Donald Trump V NY were thrown away after the expression political bias or other reasons that would prevent them from reaching a fair verdict in this unprecedented trial in the United States.
First batch 96 people was called into the courtroom on the afternoon of April 15 to undergo the formal jury selection process before sentencing. Judge Juan MerchanManhattan prosecutors, lawyers and defendants, Trump, former president and Republican nominee in the next election.

However, already in the first minutes more than half were outbuildings after Merchan invited those who recognize failure to be impartialand they were joined by a dozen more who indicated that they had other problems (presumably of a personal nature) that prevented them from completing the task.
According to a small group of journalists in the room covering the election, some of the acquitted candidates were white women, and one of them said as he left, “I just couldn’t do it.”

With the pool of potential jurors down by a third, Judge Merchan called 18 to hear their responses to a questionnaire and eliminated several more, including the woman who revealed “strong opinions” about Trump and a man who reported a potential conflict over his son or daughter’s wedding.
Merchan even questioned a dozen potential jurors, and among those who were not excluded are two lawyersone worked for a Democratic judge and the other worked for the Bronx prosecutor’s office; two women working in marketing, a bookseller and nurse.

However, the fact that candidates were not eliminated at this first meeting does not mean they have been selected, since the prosecutor’s office and defense can ask questions of them, and each party has the opportunity exclude up to ten candidates without having to give an explanation.
The selection process will continue on Tuesday, April 16, and it is expected that last few days due to Trump’s celebrity and divisive personality until both sides can agree on panel of 12 jurors which they consider impartial, in addition to seven more in reserve in case someone fails.
