Anthropic has announced that it will make its Claude 3 models available on Amazon Bedrock. Claude 3 Sonnet and Haiku are already available on Bedrock, but from now on Claude 3 Opus will also be generally available to AWS customers. Customers can test, build, and deploy generative AI applications faster across their organization with a wide range of generative AI models.
Amazon Bedrock is the first managed service to make all Claude 3 models generally available. The company is expanding its offering, which already includes: AI21 Labs, Anthropic, Cohere, Meta, Stability AI, Amazon and Mistral AI. Adding more models gives users more choices and can better apply generative AI.
AWS has already pumped a lot of money into Anthropic recently. The companies now have a kind of long-term commitment where Anthropic’s models are available to all AWS customers. Anthropic’s Claude 3 family of Opus, Sonnet and Haiku appears to be well on its way to providing a worthy alternative to ChatGPT. The newest member of the family has been named the fastest according to some Anthropic benchmarks.
