It’s been almost a year since Google Keep lost its integration with Google Calendar, which is a problem for many users of the services, since that integration included displaying Keep reminders in Calendar. This means that the calendar acted as the main application from which to check everything pending: events, tasks and reminders created in notes.

However, Google broke up with said integration haphazardly and without offering a solution or fix of any kind, which means a distraction: What was previously possible to control from a single interface now requires more effort. All of this, by the way, coincided with the integration of Google Assistant reminders into Google Tasks (and they still are: all reminders are now de facto tasks).

Well, Google seems to have reconsidered, but only half-heartedly, and instead of reverting the change and returning Calendar to its rightful place, everything is derived from Tasks, where Keep reminders are expected to be reviewed in the near future. They say this at 9to5Google, and it’s based on the code trail that the implementation of this feature left behind in the Google Keep app for Android.

On the other hand, there are no signs of change in Google Tasks, which may not mean anything one way or the other: it could be a test that will not happen, or an implementation that is so early that it still needs to be prepared. Personally, I’m betting on the latter because what Google has done with Keep has no name.
