There are a lot of reasons for this, but with this new leak about the future Google Pixel 9 Pro, I can only focus on the interest that Google smartphones have been generating for some time. As I stated a few months ago, precisely with the first leak of the 9 Pro, the fact that so many leaks have focused on the search engine’s family of smartphones seems to me to be a fairly clear sign of more than the growing interest that these devices are attracting. Interest more than deserved, no doubt.

Moreover, in this respect, everything indicates that the future generation will represent a significant leap compared to the current one. Recall that the latter consists of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, presented in October 2023, and that in a few weeks it will be joined by the long-awaited Pixel 8a, which, if there are no surprises, will hopefully be presented at Google I/or 2024, to take on the still current and highly recommended, as we told you in his review, the Pixel 7a.

The big surprise, which has not yet been confirmed because it is not official information, is that the Pixel 9 generation will add two new models, although in fact one of them responds to the name change, since the one we expected would be the Pixel Fold 2 , it seems with it finally going to be called the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, a change that will integrate more cohesively with its generational companions. Another news, undoubtedly more significant, is that there will be two versions of the Pro, the 9 Pro XL, which will be the direct successor of the Pixel 8 Pro, and the 9 Pro, which will have the same features as the 9 Pro XL. but a very large size that is close to the size of the Pixel 9. To put it more clearly, what we think will be the components of the Pixel 9 family:

• Pixel 9: codename “Tokay”. Replaces Pixel 8. Run in October 2024.
• Pixel 9 Pro: code name “Caiman”. A new proposalwith the specs of the 9 Pro but the size of the Pixel 9. Listed in October 2024.
• Pixel 9 Pro XL: codename “Komodo”. Replaces Pixel 8 Pro. Run in October 2024.

• Pixel 9a: no known code name. Replaces Pixel 8a. Run in May 2025.

The most notable thing is, as indicated, the arrival of a second model with the surname Pro, so this is a leak of rumors that we have to take with more skepticism. However, new signs have just emerged that point to its existence, such as Rozetked several images of the future Pixel 9 Pro have leaked. Some actual images (not renders) that also reveal some pretty interesting aspects of this yet-to-be-released smartphone.
