The bill now goes to the Senate. Democratic majority, which approved a similar measure more than two months ago. American leaders from Democratic President Joe Biden before Senate Republican Mitch McConnellcalled on Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson to bring the bill to a vote.

Expected that The Senate will approve the measure next week. and send it to Biden to sign and make it into law.

About a dozen Democratic lawmakers waved small Ukrainian flags as it became clear that part of the package was on track for approval. Johnson told lawmakers it was a “breach of decency.”

This week Johnson decided ignore threats of removal from hardliners his capricious majority (218–213) and move forward with this measure, which includes some $60.84 billion for Ukrainewhich has been fighting the Russian invasion for two years.

Unusual pack of four bills also includes funds for Israel, security assistance to Taiwan and allies in the Indo-Pacific region. and a measure including sanctions, threat to ban social network TIK Tak and the possible transfer of confiscated Russian assets to Ukraine.

“The world is watching to see what Congress does,” the White House said in a statement Friday.

Passage of this legislation would send a powerful message about the strength of American leadership at a critical time. The Administration urges both houses of Congress to send this additional funding package to the President’s desk as quickly as possible.

Some conservative Republicans have expressed strong opposition to the increase in aid to Ukraine.arguing that the United States cannot afford this given the growing national debt 34 trillion dollars. They have repeatedly raised the threat of ousting Johnson, who became speaker in October after his predecessor Kevin McCarthy was ousted from power by party hardliners.

“This is not perfect legislation, this is not the legislation we would write if Republicans controlled the House, the Senate and the White House,” Johnson told reporters on Friday, adding.

This is the best product we can get under the circumstances to fulfill these really important obligations.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trumpwho has enormous influence in the party, expressed his opinion on April 12 Johnson support and in a message published on social networks on Thursday, he said that Ukraine’s survival is important for the United States.

The bills provide $60.84 billion to counter the conflict in Ukraineincluding 23 billion to replenish American weapons, reserves and facilities; 26 billion for Israelincluding 9.1 billion for humanitarian needs, and 8.12 billion for the Indo-Pacific region.
