Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg (Mark Zuckerberg) said that his company has made significant progress in the development of technology that will allow users to control devices using brain signals. Unlike Elon Musk’s Neuralink, which uses a brain implant, Meta’s technology is non-invasive.

Zuckerberg shared the latest achievements in this field in an interview on YouTube with technology entrepreneur Roberto Nixon (Roberto Nickson). Zuckerberg announced that the smart bracelet the company is developing will use electromyography (EMG) to interpret nerve signals sent from the brain to the hand and convert them into commands for the device.

Touching on the great potential of this technology, Meta president stated that despite the achievements, the company is still at the beginning of the journey because it has not yet released the first version of the device.

Talking about possible applications of the technology, Zuckerberg said that the smart bracelet could soon be integrated with Ray-Ban’s Meta augmented reality smart glasses, improving user interaction through artificial intelligence capabilities.

Previously, Zuckerberg had said that the futuristic neural device could be a consumer product. “in the next few years”. He noted that the EMG-supported bracelet does not have limitations such as using cameras to track movements. Additionally, the use of artificial intelligence will allow adaptation to the individual characteristics of each individual. Zuckerberg told what happened to such a bracelet “You’ll basically be able to type and control something just by thinking about how you want to move your hand, and it won’t even be big movements.”
