Interesting, very interesting, this effort by Polestar, a brand that may be unknown to many people specialized in the world of technology, but will undoubtedly be quite familiar to lovers of the motor world. However, it’s nothing unknown so far, as it was announced at the Guangzhou Auto Show in China in May 2023, so we’ll be waiting for news from then.

I say it’s both interesting and striking because we’ve been seeing how to do it for a while now Some companies in the technology sector have decided to make the leap into the world of engines, although the most famous of the cases, the long-vaunted Apple Car, was finally dismissed by those in Cupertino recently. So in this case we find a movement in just the opposite direction, that is, a company in the motor sector has set out to “create” its own smartphone. Other manufacturers, such as NIO, have come up with similar plans.

You’re probably wondering at this point why I put create in quotes in the previous paragraph, although it’s also quite likely that you’ve already imagined the reason. And indeed, Although the device is signed by Polestar, it is actually manufactured by Meizua brand that mostly appears to be quite solvent, especially when it comes to the quality/price ratio of its devices.

We don’t know much about the technical specifications of this future, and already close (it is speculated that its first pieces will start shipping at the end of this month) smartphone, but as we see in Hypebeast, Polestar recently published its first images. And from what we see in them, at least in terms of design, we are facing a very attractive proposal.

But the key thing is that what Polestar intends with this device is to provide its users very high level of integration between smartphone and cartherefore, we are faced with a proposal aimed primarily at all people who have a brand vehicle and therefore want to use this integration, which, however, will still need to be verified if it really works differently than what other engine manufacturers offer with their applications.

If its launch goes well both in terms of sales and above all if we talk about the added value that this integration can bring, it is possible that other manufacturers will also decide to follow the path opened by Polestar, with the marketing of smartphones “own” , a move that can have an interesting impact on said market. However, this is a long shot, as it remains to be seen whether there is actually room for these “personalized” devices to be attractive to their potential users.
