The mid-range variants of the top line, branded as “Lite” or in Google’s case as “a”, were the counterpoint for users who didn’t need as much level in a smartphone. But they abandoned price restrictions a long time ago. Although it must be recognized that its characteristics have also increased, paying more than $ 500 for a “mini” is too much.

The price of the Pixel 8a will be high

You already know it’s going to be the Pixel 8a a new version of the “cheap” Google mobile. It will be the opposite of the general versions of the Pixel 8 and will replace the 7a model. In contrast, the company will improve the quality of the OLED panel with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a maximum brightness of 1,400 nits and a native resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels.

Screen size remains low compared to the mobile average: 6.1 inches, while the greater curvature at the edges of the terminal’s aluminum chassis or the back panel, which now has a matte finish, are the most important changes we have seen in the leaked images. Display bezels have also been reduced.

Another of the improved components will be its main engine. All rumors point to Tensor G3 SoC that Google will debut in the Pixel 8. This is a competent in-house development that works very well integrated with Android systems. Google pre-installs the latest version (v14) and offers the benefits of its terminals, seven years of updates and free cloud storage with Google One.
