Although we still have no official confirmation, i.eEverything indicates that the expected Samsung Galaxy Ring will arrive on the market this summeror at least notice of the date chosen for said movement. We’ve been hearing rumors about this wearable device for years, like when a patent was registered in 2020. However, everything accelerated in October last year, when a leak told us that it would be presented at the summer Galaxy Unpacked 2024. In the end, it wasn’t quite as it was teased at Unpacked in January and Samsung brought it to MWC so we got to see it for the first time.

With all these precedents, last October’s leak makes even more sense, to the point where we can practically take it for granted that the Samsung Galaxy Ring will be announced at a Samsung event this summer. along with the introduction of the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Flip6 as well as the Galaxy Watch7. Something that would make a lot of sense as we can expect the ring to create a particularly close relationship between the ring and the watch.

Samsung has already told us, among other things, that the Galaxy Watch will be available in nine sizes (from 9 to 30 in Spain) and three colors (black ceramic, platinum silver and gold), which matches what we could see from the exhibitors we saw during Samsung’s presence at the Barcelona show. Or so we thought, and now that the end of July is still a few months away, there’s been a leak that makes us doubt it.

Samsung Galaxy Ring: eight, nine or ten sizes?

This information comes from GalaxyClub, who obtained the serial numbers of the Galaxy Ring models, and it’s startling there are eight of thembut also with a double space between them, which makes us think so at one point there were ten of them. To help you understand, here are the serial numbers revealed this way:

  • SM-Q500
  • SM-Q501
  • SM-Q502
  • SM-Q505
  • SM-Q506
  • SM-Q507
  • SM-Q508
  • SM-Q509

As I said earlier, you will see that there are eight links, and not nine as we expected, but a quick look at the list shows us that in sequential order, Models Q503 and Q504 are missingwhich is somewhat odd given the order of the remaining links.

Of course, this makes us wonder what happened to the versions of the Galaxy ring that the “disappeared” codes corresponded to. The theory, perhaps the most likely, is that the original project was to introduce ten sizesbut that it was subsequently decided to reduce the number to nine, coinciding with its appearance at Mobile World Congress, and that after that point the number of available sizes was again reduced, this time to eight.

Another theory is that the reference to size nine is missing from the list for whatever reason, and that Samsung has kept the Q503 and Q504 references for some special edition. However, if these are not launched at the same time as the others, there is little point in reserving positions in the middle of the list. That would be fine, yes that these two links correspond to the ninth size and that it will have two different versionswhich for whatever reason were not included in the list that GalaxyClub has access to.

What’s your bet on this? Will there be eight or nine sizes that the Galaxy Ring will come in? And speaking of this wearable, Would you consider using a ring of this type after seeing it in action?
