A new report from analytics company IDC states that the largest mobile phone supplier in the first quarter of 2022 is Itel Mobile. The report states that the mobile phone market grew by more than $1 billion during this period. However, the number of units sold decreased to 58.9 million dollars. Compared to the first quarter of 2021, the decrease was 28.5%, but regular phones accounted for 16% of total mobile phone sales in the first quarter of 2022.

The Nokia 105 will be the most popular feature phone in the first quarter of 2022, with Itel’s lead driven by high demand for its products. Although the Tecno T402 took second place, the three phones in the top five were from Itel. Itel IT5260, IT2173 and IT2171 are in the top five.

According to previous reports, Nokia continues to show strong growth in various markets. In North America, revenue increased 87%, while in Western Europe it recorded a good 37% year-on-year growth. The Nokia brand in the UK also significantly increased its market share. It now ranks third in the UK smartphone market.

Nokia is expected to maintain its strong position in the mobile phone market in the second quarter of this year. The spread of its growth could cover all five regions compared to 2021. Source
