A major auto show will begin its work in Beijing this week, and therefore Xiaomi management tried to predict the flow of information about its own event organized for investors. The company’s president, Lei Jun (Lei Jun), as it is known, promised to launch 100,000 SU7 electric cars this year.
Last Saturday, Xiaomi has already received more than 70,000 confirmed orders for the delivery of its first electric car. According to the company president, a high level of customer confidence in the brand’s products contributes to a high increase in orders. Let us remind you that Xiaomi SU7 orders started to be received at the end of March and approximately 50,000 units were collected in the first 27 minutes. Of course, some of the previous applications were later filtered out, but according to company representatives, more than 70,000 orders were placed within three weeks.
Xiaomi SU7 electric cars are being assembled by a company in Beijing, the first phase of which is capable of producing 150,000 cars per year, and the second will be commissioned in 2025 and offer similar performance. In principle, Xiaomi’s existing capabilities should be sufficient to meet current demand, but the problem is that new customers now have to wait an eight-month wait for the SU7 electric car they ordered. Lei Jun even showed unusual openness towards its rivals, offering customers who didn’t want to wait that long a closer look at the Exeed S7, Nio ET5 and XPeng P7 electric cars.
