Undoubtedly, one of the most important components of smartphones is the memory chip, and thanks to UFS 4.0, memory in phones has never been faster, but there is always room for improvement. Today’s UFS chips are as fast as SSDs, but Kioxia has managed to make UFS 4.0 even faster.
Kioxia, a company founded by Toshiba, specializes solely in storage and memory solutions. The chips offered by Kioxia have memory capacities of 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB. Kioxia introduced the THGJFMT1E45BATV, THGJFMT2E46BATV and THGJFMT3E86BATZ chips. We can say that Android phones with only 128 GB of memory quickly become obsolete, of course, if they use UFS 4.0 technology.
Chip dimensions clear 256GB And 512GB make up 9.0×13.0x0.8mmand dimensions 1 TB — 9.0×13.0x0.9mm . Kioxia has equipped the new UFS 4.0 BiCS Flash 3D NAND chips and 18% smaller compared to previously introduced 11mm x 13mm chips.
Speed record number of new UFS chips increased 15%A. random write speed has grown tremendously 50%also with an increase random read speed 30%. However, the maximum upper read limit remains unchanged at 4640 MB/s. These speed improvements were based on comparison with the previously released 512 GB Kioxia chip (THGJFLT2E46BATP).
Kioxia announced that the production of the 256GB and 512GB versions of these new chips will start this month, and the 1TB version will start in June.
