We have seen many rumors about Remake Resident Evil 4the long-awaited project that was finally unveiled today, in style, as the presentation video gathers some of the original’s most important scenes and recreates them with impressive fidelity, suggesting that Capcom followed the approach we saw in the Resident Evil 2 Remake, a title that we had the opportunity to analyze at the time and which seemed to me the best remake in history.

The jump that Resident Evil 4 Remake makes in graphic quality compared to the original is enormous, that’s clear from the beginning of the video. As you could imagine, the Japanese company used its graphics engine RE Enginethe same that gave life to previous remakes and also Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village.

This time, however, we have an important peculiarity, and that is that Resident Evil 4 Remake will be a game exclusively for next generation consolesand PC, which means it only comes on PS5, Xbox Series SX and PC. This remake will be the title of a new generation, and this has enabled Capcom to scale the RE Engine accordingly.

This graphics engine has proven itself Very versatile, as it was able to easily adapt to the capabilities of the Xbox One and PS4, and at the same time it was ready for the new generation. The good results that the Japanese company has achieved with Resident Evil Village are a clear example of this, as the game worked well on the modest Xbox One.

Remake Resident Evil 4: The first new generation of Resident Evil

Thanks to the use of RE Engine, the graphic quality that Resident Evil 4 Remake shows is simply impressive, both for character modeling and scenery. Most importantly, however, despite all these changes, those of us who played the original we easily recognize places and moments which are shown in the video.

Here you can see the good work that Capcom has done, and that the Japanese company has introduced a technical revolution, but it seems that it has managed to preserve the essence of the original. For example, one of the most charismatic and well-known scenes in the game is the scene from Leon enters the cabin to ask about Ashley., and it is perfectly identified from 1:10 minutes. The environment that surrounds the scene is perfect and has a darker and gloomier touch than the original.

We can also see the face of the first cattle we see in the game, and the design Capcom used is just excellent, it has it’s a gesture that one would expect from a man dominated by a parasite. We can also see other important locations, such as the lake and the first meeting with Ada. At the end, we find a reference to the “gift” of cattle, which means that Leon will have to get rid of the parasite again.

Remake Resident Evil 4 will arrive on March 24, 2023and offers exclusive content for the PS VR2, the PS5 virtual reality suite. We are looking forward to it and we are convinced that our reunion with regenerators will be more frightening than ever before.
