Last month, Apple announced the MacBook Air M3 laptop. The technology giant from Cupertino is now preparing to introduce its new devices. The company planned the rollout in just a few weeks. It’s titled “Let It Go” and shows an artistic rendering that hints at future devices. Numerous rumors in the past pointed out that Apple would introduce the next generation iPad. It was a long time ago, because last year was not the first time the company had announced a new tablet.
Apple’s Let Loose event will take place on May 7 at 7 a.m. PT. It will be a virtual event that can be streamed live on the company’s official YouTube channel, the Apple TV app, and the Apple Events website.
An artist demonstrating the event displays a pen next to the Apple logo in different colors, showing off his graphic design talents. This marks the arrival of the next-generation iPad, as well as accessories like the new Pencil and Magic Keyboard.
iPad Pros and iPad Air are expected to be the center of attention at Apple’s upcoming event. The former is said to arrive with major updates after the latter in 2018. They will have an OLED display, slightly larger dimensions and a thinner design.
Seventh generation iPad Pro models will run on the latest high-performance M3 processor. They will reportedly support MagSafe charging.
Meanwhile, for the first time, Apple will introduce a larger 12.9-inch model in addition to the regular 10.9-inch model for the iPad Air series. A leaked CAD drawing has revealed that the upcoming iPad Air will have a pill-shaped camera island on the back, similar to the iPhone XS. The next-generation offerings are expected to include the M2 processor.
Although Apple did not directly announce the products planned to be released, CEO Tim Cook’s post about X said “Sign up with us for May 7.” This confirms that the company is indeed announcing the next generation, which will likely be called Apple Pencil 3.
Except for the cheaper USB-C stylus released last October, the latest generation of Apple Pencil was released in 2018. Apple Pencil 3 is expected to have Find My support, allowing you to track it in case it gets lost.
The accessory will have replaceable magnetic tips. Rumors also suggest that it will feature a ‘squeeze’ gesture and will be compatible with the Vision Pro headset.
Apple’s Magic Keyboard is also expected to receive an overdue update. It will reportedly have a larger trackpad, aluminum construction and will ditch the current floating design. This will make the iPad look more like a traditional laptop.
