Biden campaign will continue to use TikTok despite the law

Re-election campaign Joe Biden I plan to continue using TICK Yes, as officially announced on Wednesday, shortly after President of the United States will pass a law that will ban the app unless its Chinese owner abandons it.

The decision comes at a time when many young and left-leaning voters, who make up a significant portion of the short-video app’s user base, are agitated by Biden’s leadership war in Gaza and protests intensified in universities the whole country.

“Fragmentation of the media forces us to meet voters wherever they are, including Internet. “TikTok is one of many places where we make sure our content is visible to voters,” said a Biden campaign official who asked not to be identified.

The campaign will use “enhanced security measures” when using the app, the official said. Biden campaign staff do not work for the government or deal with issues National security, therefore, they are allowed to have the app on their phones, several officials have previously said.

So far, Biden’s campaign TikTok account, @bidenhq, has posted about 120 videos and has more than 306,000 followers, and regularly posts images of the president on the social network, even though White House says TikTok raises “legitimate national security concerns.”

TikTok intends to challenge the bill on the grounds First Amendment and the company’s chief executive said Wednesday he hopes to win a lawsuit to block the law.

Members of the Biden campaign do not expect the decision to harm their young voters and expect a long legal battle to determine the fate of the app and delay any possible ban.
