According to the company’s president, in this way users from Ukraine and Russia have shown that they are “categorically against” restrictions, preferring free access to information, even if it is biased.

As for general news/propaganda channels, we have received official letters from Apple stating that some changes may be coming soon, at least for users accessing Telegram on iPhone from Ukrainian SIM cards.

He adds that Telegram had to take into account requests from the App Store in order to remain available to its users, because the American company could easily remove the application from its store.

Durov does not say exactly what changes may occur. We can only assume that the company will make some Telegram channels closed to Ukrainian users, namely some Telegram channels that the Ukrainian authorities consider propaganda and hostile.

Let us remind you that discussions about the danger of Telegram have been going on for more than a year. Although there is no direct evidence, many claim that Durov’s company cooperates with Russian special services, primarily the FSB, and also does not encrypt user dialogues in any way. Some representatives of the Ukrainian authorities talk about the need to block the messenger.
