According to Ubiquiti, the new business router deserves its own product category on the website: Large scale. The term “large-scale” is no exaggeration, as with one UDM Pro Max, companies can manage up to 200 Unifi devices and 2000 connected clients. This is also one of the key differences between the UDM Pro Max and the previously launched model Special edition.
Ubiquiti also offers two 3.5-inch drive bays for storing video files. A 128 GB SSD and 32 GB eMMC storage are also installed. The router’s RAM memory is 8 GB.
The maximum throughput speed is 10 Gbit/s over the LAN and WAN port. There are also eight 1GbE Ethernet ports and one 2.5GbE WAN port. IDS/IPS throughput increased from 3.5 to 5 Gbps. According to Ubiquity, the router’s power consumption is limited to 60W.
The UDM Pro Max has another extra up its sleeve: Shadow mode to increase availability. This mode only works if you have two copies of the router. The device is also compatible with the power backup system and therefore offers a second connection for power supply.
The suggested retail price of the UDM Pro Max is $599.99.
