Although there is not much information about it, One of the candidate devices to be unveiled at the upcoming Google I/O 2024 is the Pixel Tablet 2, the natural successor to the model introduced in May of last year (and which, on the other hand, was already advanced the year before) and which, together with the Pixel Fold, proposed a large expansion of the Pixel family in terms of the types of devices that are part of it. Of course, the tablet, like the folding one, only made it to a small selection of markets.

The first generation Pixel Tablet is a quite interesting device with its strengths and weaknesses It especially excelled in the inclusion of expansion support/base which, in addition to making it more pleasant to use in certain circumstances, also turns it into a Nest Hub. Personally, and although I didn’t get a chance to test it to judge its performance and usability, I found it to be a very interesting proposition that managed to differentiate itself and in the process give a boost to the market for these devices. .

According to the latest rumors (which are also reinforced by information that came to light already in the middle of last year), it seems that Google considered a fairly significant change for the Pixel Tablet 2. Something that, given the data, also revives speculation about the possibility that the search engine technology company will indeed refresh its tablet in a few weeks, more specifically next Tuesday, May 14.

Pixel Tablet 2: no base, but with keyboard and stylus

As I already stated in the title of this news, the first news is that The Pixel Tablet 2 does without an expansion stand/base as an included accessory. Of course, this leads us to wonder if it will be sold on its own, or if, after the feedback Google received with the first generation of the tablet, they decided that the level of demand/usage for this handy accessory was so low that it didn’t justify its production. And yes, it also makes us wonder if this change will translate into a lower introductory price compared to the first generation model.

On the other hand, some indications have already appeared that point to this stylus and keyboard for the first generation of the tablet, but were ultimately not confirmed. However, and according to the same source, it looks like these two devices will arrive with the second generation. Of course, they will be sold separately and are expected to cost around $100 each.

Personally, I think that with the arrival of this accessory, it would make even more sense for the Pixel Tablet 2 to include a stand, as its combination with the keyboard would provide a very comfortable working experience. Of course, on the other hand, if the reduction in the price of the tablet can offset the cost of purchasing a keyboard or stylus, We would also talk about a very interesting proposal.
