WABetaInfo, a portal dedicated to distributing and testing all WhatsApp news, has revealed that the messaging app is testing two new features for desktop. Now version 2.2221.1 will bring the unread message filter to the desktop, which was also implemented for Android and iOS. Furthermore, via the web version it will be possible to send files up to 2 GB in size.
It is important to note that the updates are only available to WhatsApp beta users at the moment. Therefore, it may take some time before the news is published to all users.
desktop filter
As you can see in the image below provided by the XDA Developers Channel, the filter for unread messages can be found in the upper right corner of the messages tab – in the image indicated by the red arrow.

This feature should make it easier for users with a lot of concurrent conversations to find that message that ended up being unanswered.
Files up to 2 GB for the web version
Although recent updates to Whatsapp Web have made the desktop version slower due to its encryption, which has caused numerous user complaints, the PC version of the application will be able to send files up to 2 GB in size.

The file transfer feature has already been tested in Argentina and will now be available to users in the rest of the world. Whatsapp is testing a lot of new features to overhaul the app’s features and stay competitive with its main competitor, Telegram. In addition to these two innovations, Whats is also testing the ability to use the same account on more than one smartphone, groups with 512 users, and even order Uber directly through the app.
43% of WhatsApp users have already been scammed
The practice of spamming is also very present in the application.
