You can now export your Google Podcasts subscriptions to YouTube Music or other apps

Approaching end of Google Podcastsso if you’re still using it or have subscriptions there that you don’t want to lose, it’s time to switch and take advantage of the fact that they’ve enabled the export tool for everyone.

In fact, if you’re still using Google Podcasts, you’ll already be aware of the news because you’ve already seen the notification that the app displays when you type: After June 23, 2024, you will no longer be able to listen to podcasts on Google Podcasts and offers several links below with more information and “export your subscription”. The truth is, there is no loss unless you are very clueless or have switched to another alternative.

It’s nothing that isn’t already known. Therefore, even if the deadline for continuing to use Google Podcasts is June 23, the time to export data will actually be longer: if in the United States the termination occurred on April 2 and they gave time to export until July Based on the existing data, it can be expected that the same conditions will be maintained in other markets as well.

Despite that, there’s no point in continuing to use what’s a living corpse… and look, Google Podcasts is a well-made app. Much better, at least for podcasts, than the default Google-promoted alternative, YouTube Music. But this is what there is: Google Podcasts will say goodbye and you’ll either go to YouTube Music or look for an alternative Indeed (thankfully there are thousands out there).

Google Podcast makes it easy for you: both from the mobile app and from the web, Subscriptions can now be exported that are on the service, directly to YouTube Music or “into another app” by downloading the corresponding OPML file. If you find yourself with a browser open, you can do so using the following link:

  • Google Podcasts Settings

what needs to be done? As I explained in the previous article that I looked into the matter… I am not very clear. I’m a YouTube Music user myself and love it for listening to music, but for podcasts I find it green and quite annoying. I imagine there will be opinions for all tastes, so the best you can do is keep trying until you get it right.

Now yes, Goodbye Google Podcasts. When you were there, you complied.
