According to a study by WeTransfer, 87 percent of creators experience late payments or defaults after downloading their content. To prevent this, WeTransfer adds a payment option to its system. Before the recipient can download, they must first pay the amount due.
With this option, WeTransfer would like to provide professionals such as photographers, designers and illustrators with a shorter payment route. Additional advantage: You don’t need your own website with an online payment platform to collect your money after digital delivery. The service will be launched in ten languages, including Dutch, French, German and English
WeTransfer works with Stripe for payments. The payment option is only available to paying subscribers. WeTransfer does not charge a percentage of sales. Stripe does this to maintain digital services. The standard rates apply there, which you pay per transaction everywhere.
“Millions of creators already use our platform every day to communicate with clients and fans and share important work, but all too often find themselves stranded by waiting for final payments long after the work is complete,” said Alexandar Vassilev, CEO of WeTransfer, at TechCrunch.
“Integrating payments into our product ecosystem is an important new chapter in our mission to increase the convenience and earning potential of our creative user base while removing common barriers through secure and beautifully simple technology.”
