Experts of the “VNTU-FRENDT” Research and Training Center at the Vinnytsia National Technical University have developed a new technology for finding and marking explosive objects in fields.
This was reported to Ukrinform by the press service of Vinnytsia National Technical University.
“Our center was established to automate and digitize the agricultural sector. Especially in the field of precision agriculture, which uses the latest technologies that enable farmers to reduce production costs and improve quality. But the war dictated new tasks. Experiences in the occupied lands in our country necessitated the development of technologies that increase occupational safety in such agricultural lands. Its essence is to mark explosive objects in the fields of agricultural holdings, “he said.
They noted that the technology includes the use of unmanned devices that provide searches for explosive objects and marking areas. This will facilitate the work of the explosive services dealing with demining of the occupied areas.
Currently, specialists of the “VNTU-FRENDT” Research and Training Center are preparing prototypes of the device and promise to present its developments to potential users in the near future. This device is scheduled to be available at a price.
As Ukrinform reported, citing the head of the National Police of Ukraine (NPU), Igor Klymenko, during the Russian extensive occupation of Ukraine for 100 days, explosives found and seized more than 80,000 explosives and almost two tons of explosives. More than 18,000 unexploded ordnance were destroyed.
