Palo Alto Networks announces a major update to its Prisma SASE platform. The new version, Prisma SASE 3.0, provides enhanced security features for managed and unmanaged devices. Palo Alto also proudly points out the integrated enterprise browser. The platform uses artificial intelligence for data security and accelerates application performance, which the company says can result in five times faster processing.
Prisma SASE 3.0 introduces a number of new features to improve the security of enterprise data. Prisma Access Browser provides Zero Trust security for unmanaged devices, allowing users to work securely on personal laptops and mobile devices. The browser’s launch is no coincidence following the acquisition of Israel’s Talon Cyber Security at the end of last year.
Another important innovation is AI-driven data security. This feature improves the accuracy of data classification by combining machine learning models with language understanding. This allows companies to protect their sensitive information more efficiently, according to Palo Alto.
The updated platform also includes a App accelerationFeature that can improve application performance with speeds up to five times faster than normal. Of course, you have to see this in the SASE context, where acceleration refers to the connection between end user and application over the network. Palo Alto says the acceleration works for companies that use cloud services and enterprise applications from providers such as Amazon Web Services, Slack, ServiceNow, Google, Zoom and SAP.
