“Denied in the 1990s”: still no Ukrainian connection in the Kherson region

Sergey Khlan, deputy of the Kherson district council, described a situation with communication in the region in a national telemarathon broadcast. This was reported by Channel 24.

Occupants cut off electricity in substations

There is no connection of Ukrainian operators in the region. 5 days completely gone. If yesterday there was still hope that Ukrainian operators and mobile Internet connection will still appear, then in the afternoon this hope disappeared,
– noted assistant.

He said that on the morning of June 3, Internet and mobile communications from Kyivstar and Vodafone appeared in Kakhovka. The occupying “authorities” wrote of a link to propaganda sources and urged people to reboot.

Probably the collaborators did it on purpose. After all, they later claimed that when the connection was lost, Ukraine refused to give a signal. In fact, the invaders cut off electricity at all substations in the region, including Kakhovka.

No use of Russian sim cards

For 5 days, the Russians have been actively selling their sim cards. Price – 50 hryvnia. Kherson residents are waiting in line for them, as they at least allow them to call an ambulance. That is the end of the benefits of Russian operators. After all, the enemy operator does not call Ukrainian numbers, so people who bought Russian cards cannot contact their relatives.

Fixed internet from Russian operators is currently available. Kherson residents started using it over VPN. They cannot read the news from Ukrainian sources any other way. After learning this, the Russians started blocking the VPN.

This is a denial of the past in the 1990s. But then at least there was a stable connection, and now it is not available in the Kherson region,
said Hlan.

Why are the invaders blocking Ukrainian operators?

When our Armed Forces began to gain tactical success near Mykolayiv and Kryvyi Rih, not far from the captured Kherson, the Russians closed Ukrainian communications. The invaders tell the people of Kherson that they are forgotten and abandoned. They want the public to be unaware of the achievements of the Armed Forces and their imminent release.
