According to a new note sent to investors, Apple is accelerating its work on advanced devices. A report prepared by Haitong International Securities analyst Jeff Pu states that Apple will begin mass production of the 20.3-inch foldable device in late 2025, and the foldable iPhone in late 2026.

Ming-Chi Kuo had previously reported that Apple was working on a 20.3-inch foldable MacBook scheduled for release in 2027. Ross Young also reported that Apple is developing a 20-inch foldable hybrid device that is scheduled to be released in 2026 or 2027. Mark Gurman from Bloomberg he also said that Apple is “exploring a dual-screen foldable MacBook/iPad hybrid.”

If today’s Pu report is to be believed, Apple has “accelerated” work on complex devices. The report notes “increased visibility” of complex Apple devices based on supply chain audits.

Pu said Apple’s foldable device will represent a “new series for Apple” aimed at the “ultra-high-end market.” Apple is reportedly exploring two screen sizes for the foldable iPhone: 7.9 inches and 8.3 inches.

It is also reported that the 20.3-inch “sophisticated device” will go into mass production in late 2025. A foldable iPhone will appear in late 2026.

This is an incredibly aggressive chronology that has not yet been confirmed by other sources. For now, I take this with a grain of salt. Still, it’s interesting to imagine what a world where Apple produces advanced devices might look like.
