The Atlas V rocket was delivered to the launch pad at the Space Force Station in Cape Canaveral on Saturday, May 4, dubbed Star Wars Day, just days before its historic first flight with astronauts.
On top of the United Launch Alliance launch vehicle was also the Boeing Starliner spacecraft, which will make its first flight with humans. The launch window will open on May 7 at 10:34 PM ET.
Duty called Crew Flight Test (CFT) will send into the air two veteran NASA astronauts and former U.S. Navy test pilots: Butch Wilmore will manage the mission and Artificial Williamc will be a pilot. Both astronauts are in pre-flight quarantine at Kennedy Space Center, located near the spaceport.
If the CFT mission is successful, Starliner is planned to continue to be used to transport astronauts to the International Space Station.
