A month-long beta and a waitlist later, the long-awaited Arc Browser is now available for Windows.
The Chromium-based web browser Arc, developed by The Browser Company, is now available for Windows. The browser has been available for MacOS for a long time, but the Windows version was delayed. Arc allows Chrome extensions and has a very new user interface compared to other browsers. Windows 11 users can now download the browser from the website, but an account is required to use it.
Arc Browser is based on Chromium, which means it enables Chrome extensions and has good web compatibility. Previously, Arc Browser was only available in a beta version and via a waiting list, but now it is finally available for Windows, according to The Browser Company.
The browser has a completely different user interface than other browsers. While most browsers display tab groups and favorites at the top, Arc Browser does so on the left side of the screen. Additionally, rather than having a URL bar, Arc has a “command line” in the middle of the screen where users can enter their search queries and URLs.
If you want to use this browser on Windows, you can easily download it from the website. An important note here is that to use Arc Browser you will need to create an account. This step is important for the sync option, but may be questionable in terms of privacy risks. Since Arc is based on Chromium, any vulnerability discovered in Chromium also appears in Arc.
