Reuters won this Monday Pulitzer Prize in the national reporting category for a series of investigations that revealed harm to consumers, workers and laboratory animals across Elon Musk’s manufacturing empire.

Additionally, Reuters reported that electric vehicle pioneer, Tesla hid dangerous defects, manipulated range estimates on their cars’ dashboards and shared sensitive images recorded by their cars without the drivers’ knowledge.

Reuters shared the award with the Washington Post, which was recognized for its analysis of the AR-15 rifle and its role in gun violence in the United States.

The news agency, a division of Thomson Reuters, also won a Pulitzer Prize in the photography category for breaking news.

The New York Times received an investigative reporting award for articles exposing the use of widespread child labor among immigrants.

Lookout Santa Cruz won a Pulitzer Prize for breaking news reporting for its coverage of California’s catastrophic floods and landslides.
