As we expected, the main protagonists of Let Loose, Apple’s presentation that took place this afternoon, were tablets technologymore specifically, the iPad Air family, which can now be called this way because it now has two models (11 and 13 inches) with different configurations for each of them, and the iPad Pro 2024, which brought a double evolutionary leap in terms of its SoC (from the Apple M2 after the Apple M4), and that they also abandoned LED screens (on 11-inch models) and Mini-LED (on 13-inch models) to adopt their own OLED-based developments.
However, we expected some more news and indeed it was. With all of them, yes, in the iPad ecosystem (although one of them will have much more reach over time). But first, let’s talk about what hasn’t been confirmed, despite rumors to the contrary.
Yes, it was confirmed, and it was quite obvious from the Let Loose challenge image, that the Apple Pencil was also the protagonist. However, and contrary to what we thought, it was not due to a refresh of the current model, but rather to introduce a more advanced version, Apple Pencil Prowhich really deserves the title of innovative because its operating interface has improved exponentially compared to the standard model.
In this new model, the sensor detects that the user presses the device itself, and automatically causes the palette to appear on the screen which displays a toolbox that adapts to the context. Along with that, the Apple Pencil Pro also integrates a gyroscope, so we can rotate the device as if it were a wheel and move between the different options of the said palette. To make it even easier to use, it also has an engine that will be responsible for giving us a haptic response that will serve as a confirmation of the actions we perform.
Although the main protagonists of Let Loose were the iPad Air and iPad Pro families, there were also news related to the iPad, and the truth is that news as surprising as sensational. Just a few days ago, we informed you of a leak that pointed to a price drop for the iPad 11 compared to the iPad 10. Well, you won’t have to wait until the end of the year when the lineup is scheduled to be renewed to enjoy the drop, as Apple announced in Let Loose, that iPad 10 prices will drop to those of their peers in the previous generation.
So if until now it cost 579.70 euros to buy a 64GB Wi-Fi iPad in Spain, from today Its price suddenly dropped to 429 euros. And in case you were wondering, in the United States the price of the same model has gone up from $449 to $349. This move is, as I said, great news for consumers, and I personally can’t help but see a certain connection with the relaunch of the Pixel tablet in the United States and its jump into the international market.
