BYD Dynasty introduced its new Qin L DM-i midsize sedan at the 2024 Beijing International Auto Show. The new model gets an updated design both inside and out. It is equipped with the fifth-generation DM-i hybrid and is positioned higher than the Qin PLUS DM-i currently on sale. BYD Qin L DM-i is now available for blind order and will be introduced on May 29. The expected price range is between 120,000-150,000 yuan ($16,609 – $20,762).

The new model will be available in five different models: 120KM Excellence, 120KM Beyond, 120KM Leading, 80KM Beyond and 80KM Leading. Additionally, the new model will be offered with four different exterior color options: Run Yu White, Jianyao Purple, Ice Amber Green and Citrine Gray. The interior will have two different color options: Haoyue Rice and Xuanwu Grey.
Qin L was previously expected to bring significant breakthroughs in fuel consumption and battery life. According to reports, the Qin L is built on BYD’s next-generation hybrid platform and is specially designed for hybrid vehicles. This fifth-generation DM-i hybrid system consumes only 2.9 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers. Battery life is expected to reach 2,000 kilometers.
The new car will be equipped with a hybrid system consisting of a 1.5-liter engine and an electric motor. The working volume of the engine is 1498 ml, the maximum power is 74 kW, it is equipped with a lithium-iron-phosphate battery.
The length, width and height of the car are reported to be 4,830 mm/1,900 mm/1,495 mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2,790 mm.
Speaking of the interior, the integrated center console gradually opens up with a large rotating screen in the middle. It is stated that the seats are wide and comfortable. DiLink Smart Cockpit features a 15.6-inch adaptive rotating display, NFC digital key and onboard ETC. The smart driving assistant system offers adaptive cruise control, emergency lane keeping assist, and blind spot monitoring, among other features.
