The Motorola Razr 50 Ultra, another version of Lenovo’s compact foldable mobile phone, has been listed in European retailers, which along with last week’s image leaks and its certification by some communications regulators, indicates a short-term presentation. The current Razr 40 model was announced last June 1.
Motorola launched the compact folding Razr to resurrect the iconic model that was sold fifteen years ago and which many of us who got to enjoy it fondly remember. Samsung was “inspired” by its design to produce the Flip model and today it is the best seller in the segment. The Motorola ones are one of the few viable alternatives.
Motorola Razr 50 Ultra will keep the main clamshell format and the stainless steel and glass chassis of its predecessors. From the leaked images, it will retain an internal flexible OLED screen with a diagonal close to 7 inches and a 2.7-inch exterior for notifications and media controls.
Motorola will surely refresh the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen1 with another Qualcomm engine with excellent features. As for the cameras, we see a front one for selfies in a perforated hole in the screen and a dual sensor for the main camera on the back.
The minimum memory and internal storage that the terminal will contain will be increased to 12 GB RAM + 512 GB bytes. If we listen to the seller, his price will be 1,199 euros in Europe. Same price as the Razr 40 at launch, but with a lower 8GB + 256GB configuration. It means that Motorola will not increase the price even by increasing the level of hardware.
The listing also reveals the color options for the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra and that there will be three: blue, green and peach Pantone certified. It pre-installs Android 14 with the improvements in the number of updates that Lenovo promised.
We like Motorola’s compact foldable smartphone (a lot), the only one in the segment that seems capable of outshining the new Galaxy Z Flip 6 that Samsung will launch next summer.
