Elon Musk, CEO of Exploration Technologies Corporation (SpaceX), shared his extraordinary plans to launch a rocket to Mars. The CEO shared slides from a recent presentation he gave at SpaceX and shared more about his plans to colonize Mars. Musk also confirmed his rationale for developing a rocket that could eventually get humans to Mars. The leader and his company are often criticized for this purpose, and some critics believe that dedicating resources to solving problems on Earth is the best option.

He also revealed how he plans to use Starship to achieve these goals. The rocket consists of two parts. Its lower, or first stage, is a 230-foot accelerator designed to run with 33 Raptor 2 engines. At the top of the launch vehicle is the 164-foot-tall Starship spacecraft and the Starship launch system together, 394 feet high.

When asked what his “plan” was to achieve this goal, Musk replied quite simply, but overall he described the incredible scale of operations the 50-year-old leader plans to launch.
