From this year’s plans of technology companies, it is true that The Galaxy Z Fold6 FE has been one of the most interesting for me for a long times, because it could represent an interesting turn in the market, at the same time interesting, promising and plagued by uncertainty, as is the case with folding smartphones. A market that until recently was within the reach of very few pockets, but designs like the Nubia Flip 5G are making them more popular every day.

Of course, this mainly applies to those that respond to the Flip format, such as the aforementioned Nubia or the Motorola Razr 40, which is currently on sale on Motorola’s website for just 499 euros. The same cannot be said for the Fold typewhich when folded are the same size as a standard smartphone and when unfolded can compete with eReaders and small tablets, a format that makes them particularly practical.

Even though it’s been almost a year We’re starting to hear the first rumors of a “cheap” foldable device from Samsungand that it was recently revealed that this design will be the Galaxy Z Fold6 FE, there is still no information (in the form of leaks, of course) that points to a specific price. Still, since we first heard about it, many of us were hoping that it really did represent a downward leap in price, which would push the rest of the ‘Folds to drop prices as well.

Now, however, everything seems to be up in the air because, as we read in the Wccfts, Samsung is reevaluating the Galaxy Z Fold6 FE project and the possibility of its cancellation is on the table. According to this publication, there are several sources that point to the cancellation of the project, or at least a thorough review of it, which would be mainly due to both doubts about whether it would catch on in the market and problems with ensuring that its thickness is not higher than its main rivals.

Of course, it makes sense that Samsung raises these doubts, but the truth is that Market suitability will directly depend on price to which this Galaxy Z Fold6 FE is launched, and as for its thickness, I bet that is not the most concern for users who would like to have a folding type of Fold, but at an affordable price. Obviously with a limit, of course, but we’re talking about the type of device where some “extra” thickness is tolerable.
