“We believe that Israel can and must do more to ensure the protection and well-being of innocent civilians. We don’t believe what is happening in the Gaza Strip is genocide“stated White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivanat a press conference.

Sullivan confirmed that the United States opposes military operation on a large scale over Rafah, at the southern tip of the Gaza Strip, on the border with Egypt and where some 1.4 million inhabitants of Gazamost of whom fled Israeli attacks in the rest of the enclave.

“We believe that there will be an error launch a large-scale military operation in the very center of the region, which will put huge numbers of civilians at risk– Sullivan emphasized.

Until now, the US leadership believed that the Israeli operation in Rafah have “limited volume” and that this is not about “large scale invasion” something he had been warning against for months.

However, over the weekend Israel offset order expanded to more areas of central Rafah, and this Monday two more areas were added, located in the western half.

More 35,000 peoplemostly women and children died since the beginning of the war in the Gaza Strip on October 7, nearly 79,000 were injured, with nearly 10,000 missing believed to be trapped in the rubble of buildings destroyed by the explosions.
