This year, Apple will hold a WWDC event on June 6. The company will announce a wide range of new software updates for developers, including iOS 16, iPadOS 15, macOS 13, watchOS 9 and more. There is also a high probability that the company will announce its new equipment at the event. If you haven’t been active in the news lately, find out what to expect from next week’s Apple WWDC 2022 event. Scroll down to see more about it.
As previously mentioned, on June 6, Apple will hold an online event to present its latest offering in the software space. We have also repeatedly reported that the company may also offer new equipment. However, it is unknown whether Apple plans to announce a new MacBook Air, MacBook Pro or Mac Pro. The event, which will take place from June 6-10, will give developers and engineers the opportunity to play with new tools. The company will conduct several video sessions with developers and engineers that will allow them to better understand the tools by which they can develop programs and other software. As for what we can expect from Apple at WWDC 2022, we’ve compiled a list for your best understanding.
iOS 16
Apple will announce the upcoming iOS 16 to developers with many changes and new additions. As for what to expect from the WWDC 2022 event, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the company won’t be making major changes to its mobile operating system. However, there will be many promising additions such as new programs and new ways to interact with the system. In addition, the operating system can also make changes to notifications and new health monitoring features. Apple may reconfigure the iOS 16 interface to better fit the dual-cut display on the iPhone 14 Pro. It may not be a new change for other models.
iPadOS 16
There are rumors that iPadOS 16 will have new multitasking features. That’s because the iPad gets faster with each update, and the new M-Series processors are fast enough to work with full-fledged apps like Photoshop or Final Cut Pro. It was also previously known that Apple could work on a new multitasking interface. This will potentially narrow the gap between iPadOS and macOS that users have been waiting for for a while.
macOS 13
macOS 13 can borrow features from iOS 16 and iPadOS 16, as it did last year with SharePlay and shortcuts. Although there are no specific details, we should expect OS-wide redesigned icons and improvements from macOS 13 at WWDC 2022. Apple can match the look of macOS with iOS and iPadOS to optimize visual effects in every way. This is because with Apple Silicon we can run iOS and iPadOS first on the system, and it would make more sense if the whole system is seamless when it comes to design.
watchOS 9
A new power saving mode is expected to appear in watchOS 9 at WWDC 2022, which reduces the power consumption of wearables. The new mode does not limit the functionality of the device, but reduces power consumption to increase battery life. In terms of health and wellness, watchOS 9 is expected to expand atrial fibrillation detection to measure the “burden” or frequency of how long a person stays in a state. In addition, Apple will add new training types and metrics to the Training Program. In terms of visual effects, the company may add new dials for a fresh look. vOS 16
tvOS updates have always been minor when it comes to front-end features. The upcoming tvOS 16 update will potentially add new screensavers. There will be many new improvements under the hood, but nothing special has been mentioned so far. With all that said, we will share more detailed information about the firmware as additional details emerge.
New Hardware
Earlier, there were rumors that Apple would release the iMac Pro in the summer. We hope Apple will announce it at WWDC 2022, although rumors have subsided due to manufacturing difficulties. The new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models are also expected to run on the new Apple M2 chips. The new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro are expected to have a new design.
