Twitter is preparing to implement an extremely important feature that users have been demanding for a long time. The news about the possibility of editing the message was initially perceived as an April 1 joke, but later the company confirmed that it really happened. We now have the details of how tweet editing will work.
According to app developer Nimi Ouji, Twitter will add a timer when editing a tweet. It’s unclear at this time whether users will only have 30 minutes to edit messages or if this time will change when the feature rolls out.
It is also reported that you cannot like, retweet, or reply to the original version of the tweet. So after editing you will only be able to interact with the new version of this tweet, but the old one will remain.

In April, developer Jane Manchun Wong announced that tweets would remain “unchanged” even with the introduction of the “Edit Tweet” feature. So instead of editing the original tweet, the platform will create a new tweet with a different ID. Moreover, Twitter will keep track of the original tweet as well as any previous changes made by the user. Additionally, it’s important to note that currently the tweet editing feature is probably only available to Twitter Blue subscribers. Source
