Zscaler has announced new AI enhancements to its data protection platform aimed at strengthening data security across different storage locations and communication channels.

Zscaler has made upgrades to its AI data protection platform. These improvements are intended to optimize data security for both structured and unstructured data, regardless of whether it is in motion, stored or used.

The platform covers various channels including web, SaaS, email, BYOD and private applications in both data centers and public cloud.

The Zscaler AI Data Protection Platform leverages more than 500 trillion data points from users, devices, networks and applications every day. This data is used to make sensitive information more visible, provide valuable context, and achieve workflow automation.

Recent additions to the platform include:

  • Integrated Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) to discover, classify and secure sensitive data in public clouds such as AWS and Microsoft Azure.
  • Context-rich GenAI App Security that provides insights into risky requests and AI app usage with granular policy controls.
  • Real-time email DLP to protect sensitive data in corporate email across platforms like Microsoft 365 and Google Gmail.

Other platform enhancements include consolidated Unified SaaS Security, which integrates various technologies for better correlation that enables proactive risk management and mitigation.

Additionally, AI Auto Data Discovery has been extended to all data at rest locations, helping to reduce the complexity of existing data protection programs and increase efficiency.

These extensions address organizations’ needs to protect intellectual property and customer data from insider threats, data breaches, and malicious actors.

The need for an integrated data protection approach that can protect all data types across all locations is increasing, especially as threats such as ransomware and increasing cloud usage increase.
