Canadian intelligence says TikTok is allowing China to collect user data

Director Canadian intelligence servicesDavid Vigneault assured that TIK Tak This is part of the Chinese government’s “have the ability to acquire” strategy personal information its users and added that he does not recommend using it.

Vigneault, director of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), said in an interview with Canadian public radio and CBC television published this Friday that it is “obvious” that the popular social network is designed in such a way that the data of its users are at the disposal of the Chinese authorities.

Vigneault warned that China has developed enormous computing power and is working on artificial intelligence projects using data obtained from its advanced technologies.

“The ultimate goal is always to protect the interests of the Chinese Communist Party. And from this point of view, for various reasons, it is a threat to our way of life,” he added.

Last week, the CSIC published its annual report, which focused on threats posed by China, Russia, Iran and India.
