Chinese electric car brand Avatr has announced a new model from its stable. This is the Avatr 07 SUV and will be available as an Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) or Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV). Avatr 07 is the company’s third model after the Avatr 11 SUV and Avatr 12 sedan.

Avatr technology is supported by Changan Automobile, CATL and Huawei. The new model underlines Avatr’s desire to compete in the EREV market. Avatar 07 will be available in both BEV and EREV variants. This is the first Avatar model to support both EREV and BEV. The expansion of EREV reinforces the BEV challenge and the practicality of incorporating fuel tanks to expand the demand area for this model. The BEV market, especially in China, has been the target of most EV startups in the country. In addition to driving a BEV, EREV also provides the extended range that can be achieved from an economical vehicle.

Avatr entered the EV segment in 2022 and launched Avatr11 in August 2022, with deliveries to begin in December 2022. Avatr 12 was released in November 2023 and shipments will begin in December 2023. As of April 2024, Avatr has produced more than 5,200 cars. March 2024 production data has not yet been published, but the April 2024 figure more than doubles February 2024 production.

Avatr 07 will be available with rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options. The new Avatr SUV has dimensions of 4825x1980x1620 mm and a wheelbase of 2940 mm. Avatry 07 will be based on Huawei’s next-generation LiDAR and latest CATL supercharged batteries. Avatr 07 was previously said to be released in the third quarter of 2024. Avatr has not released any price information for the new model, but its price is expected to be between $ 34,605 ​​and $ 48,446.
