In response to the Xiaomi TV screen dropping, the company announced a new self-test program in China for its smart TV. This new program will help notify users in case the Xiaomi TV panel is broken.
The Chinese tech giant released a new EA70 Self Check program in China last weekend. For those who do not know, we have reported two cases when the display panel of smart TVs of this brand fell out. The first incident occurred at the reception company, and the second occurred at the user’s home. In both cases the screen fell without any external force.
Xiaomi initially said that the two crashes were isolated incidents and were rare. But now the brand has come forward and said that two batches with production dates between February 14 and March 20 are facing a defect. This prompted the App Store to launch a self-test program to help users check if their smart TV is at risk of breaking down.
Additionally, the company announced that it will provide free onsite maintenance for EA70 TVs under a special service plan. Users can also contact the official customer support service to sign up for onsite service. It even offers an additional two years of extended warranty service for EA70 TVs. Source
