Developers looking to get started with a Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite chip can purchase the Snapdragon Dev Kit for Windows Mini PC.

After the announcement of Copilot Plus and more than 15 new laptops from the largest PC manufacturers, the first desktop PC is now a fact. Developers can order the Snapdragon Dev Kit for Windows 11. It includes a tuned, slightly more powerful Snapdragon X Elite chip for maximum performance.

Rounding out the set is 32GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, all in a package that doesn’t exceed the 80-watt power consumption limit. The mini PC supports up to three external 4K displays and will be available on June 18th for $899. The devkit replaces Project Volterra, which was announced two years ago and updated last year.

– The Microsoft Copilot stack is extended to Windows with Windows Copilot Runtime. Microsoft has integrated AI into every layer of Windows, including a fundamental transformation of the operating system itself to enable developers to accelerate AI development on Windows.

– Windows Copilot Runtime has you covered no matter where you are on your AI journey – whether you’re just starting out or already have your own models. Windows Copilot Runtime includes the Windows Copilot library, a collection of APIs supported by the 40+ AI models on devices that ship with Windows. It also includes AI frameworks and toolchains that help developers bring their own device models to Windows. This is based on powerful chips including GPUs and NPUs.

– Microsoft introduces Windows Semantic Index, a new operating system feature that redefines Windows Search and enables new experiences like Recall. Later we will make this feature available to developers who use the Vector Embeddings API to create their own vector storage and RAG within their applications and with their app data.

– Phi Silica is based on the Phi series and is designed for the NPUs in Copilot Plus PCs.

– The Phi Silica API, along with OCR, Studio Effects, Live Captions, and User Activity APIs, will be available in the Windows Copilot library in June. More APIs will be added in the coming months.

– Microsoft introduces native support for PyTorch on Windows with DML, allowing thousands of Hugging Face models to function normally on Windows.

– Web Neural Network (WebNN) developer preview on Windows via DirectML. This allows web developers to use the chips to deliver AI capabilities and allows developers to scale their AI investments across the breadth of the Windows ecosystem.

– We’re introducing new productivity features in Dev Home such as environments, improvements to WSL, DevDrive, and new updates to WinUI3 and WPF
