ASUS debuts on the Copilot+ PC platform with the Vivobook S 15

ASUS introduced the Vivobook S 15 as the first Copilot+ computer notebook. As you know, the platform that Microsoft announced yesterday at the gate of its Build 2024 conference can use both Qualcomm Snapdragon X processors and Intel’s “Lunar Lake”.

For the premiere, ASUS opted for the ARM architecture and the Snapdragon X Elite, which is also used by the new Surface from Microsoft itself. As for the specific model, it is part of the Vivobook series with high consumption, a step below the magnificent Zenbook, but with some components that raise its level, such as an aluminum chassis or an OLED screen. We recently saw this in this analysis, and the Copilot+ PC version continues this premium line.

As the main engine is mounted a Snapdragon X Elite with 12 CPU cores capable of reaching speeds of up to 3.4 GHz and an integrated 3.8 TFLOPS GPU. The Neural Processing Unit (NPU) is the same across the entire platform and achieves 45 TOP performance in accelerating artificial intelligence tasks. The cooling system includes two fans, two heat pipes and two air outlets.

It is supplemented by 16 GB to 32 GB of LPDDR5x-8488 memory and up to 1 TB with PCIe 4.0 SSD. It is also compatible with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 and has a set of ports that includes two USB4 also debuting on the platform (Type-C), another two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A, HDMI 2.1, a microSD card reader and audio jacks.

It includes a RGB backlit keyboard one zone and a touch panel (trackpad) that allows you to control volume, screen brightness and multimedia playback using gestures. It has a FHD webcam with IR support for facial recognition with Windows Hello.

Vivobook S 15 will support all the new Copilot+ AI features coming to Windows 11. It will be available soon (available in June) on the ASUS web portal and dedicated retail channel, priced from $1,300.
